The outside of the National Cathedral in Washington D.C., just down the street from Georgetown.

The National Cathedral is a church built in the old English Gothic style. Construction began in 1907 and it took 83 years to build.

It's a gorgeous and massive church that easily rivals other cathedrals I've visited in Rome, Venice and Florence.

An interior shot. The low lighting inside the church made it difficult for my little digital camera, but I've done my best to give you an idea what it looked like.

Each window in the Cathedral tells a different story. This one tells of Man's interest in science and space. This piece depicts our voyage to the mood. The red disc at the top represents the moon and in the middle of it is an actual moon rock.

You get a good feel for the Gothic architecture with this picture.

Poor quality photo of the stained glass above the front entrance of the Cathedral. The colors actually change throughout the day based on the position of the sun.

Easily the most beautiful altar in the church. Unfortunately with a flash the altar looked horrible and without it the picture turned out blurry. Next time I visit I'll have to take the 35mm and a monopod.
