Tuesday in Paris
Taking a break in the Jardins de Tuileries. Truly the best moment of the day on Tuesday.

Just part of Amsterdam’s Red Light district at night — it stays light later here during the spring and summer, but also the exposure on the camera is fooling you a bit. I like this photo.

Well, the weather has been total crap since getting here, thus not exactly condusive to good photos. The hotel I’m staying at is about a five minute walk from the Place de Bastille and here’s a look at the monument in the center.

More to come.
More photos of actual sites tomorrow, but first my lunch in Paris today at the Gare du Nord train station prior to my trip to Amsterdam.

Of course you need a tuna sandwich and beer when you’re trying to figure out the Metro and Tweeting at the same time. Beer during lunch on vacation is an important thing for all men to enjoy at least one week a year. The other 51 are meant to be miserable or some facsimile thereof.
Good friend and CBR Columnist Augie De Blieck Jr. sent on this fascinating bit of info regarding this photo I took of the Eifel Tower last night:
Just remember: You can’t sell it. Odd, but true: The Eiffel Tower’s lighting scheme is copyrighted/trademarked/whatever the French equivalent is. You can’t sell an image of the Eiffel Tower with its lights on without permission of the French government.
Well, shit. There goes my personal economic stimulus plan.
I’m in Amsterdam. More later. Follow all the latest on twitter.com/jonahweiland if you’re really bored.
Believe it or not, the photo below was taken late, around 9:00 PM, on Thursday. The exposure makes it look brighter out than it is, but it also does stay light here later than it does in Los Angeles. Something about lattitude or longitude or small monkeys powering nuclear reactors. Not sure which.
