What I’ve Decided for 2009 …

Posted by Jonah Weiland in General -

While 2008 has been really quite a good year for me on many levels, the one thing it has proven to me is that my current way of living, without much of a schedule or fixed structure in my day-to-day life, is not good. That as successful as life has generally treated me in 2008, it could have been even better. With the challenges of 2009 bearing down on my life — as well as everyone elses — it’s my belief that a life with more structure and better scheduling will result in even greater success.

Part of that structure will be a regular exercise regiment — something I began about two months ago, but in the last two weeks the holidays and back pain have curtailed that, but we’ll return to that.

Also part of that structure will be an earlier daily rising for this here boy. While the days of waking up at 11:00 or 12:00 are well behind me, I’ve discovered that waking up between 8:00 and 8:30 each day isn’t quite early enough either. Waking up earlier has improved my productivity quite a bit and those days where I’ve woken up at 7:00 or 7:30 has helped even more. It was that added structure this year that helped me achieve more. I can see adding a bit more structure day-to-day would offer even greater benefits.

I also plan on blogging more — getting back to the more creative early days of this here blog. While my creativity in the past year has been satiated by my work on both the relaunched CBR and overseeing the construction of the new CBR Office/Studio, with the majority of that now over I think exercising my creative muscles on a regular basis again would be a good idea indeed. Unfortunately, in order to properly do that I need to completely relaunch this blog. The software I’m using here is woefully out of date and doesn’t offer me some flexibility I could use. So, first things first, a redesign and relaunch of this blog. I think I’ll ping a friend to help with that.

OK, random post now done. Maybe I’ll actually work on that “reflecting on 2008″ post I’ve been threatening myself I’d actually do this year.
