Getting Around

Posted by Jonah Weiland in General -

Found this site today that helps you create a map of the various countries you’ve visited around the world. So, I put one together for my own travels, including my upcoming trip to China (with a layover in Taiwan).

The site tells me I’ve visited 11 countries, only 4% of those in the world. And you can’t even make out the red for Tahiti, Samoa and Fiji. Bastards.

Sadly I had to miss out on a trip to Australia this year, but had I gone there would have been a lot more red on this map. I’d also have been able to say that in 2005 I step foot on four different continents. I like the sound of that.

Next year I’m thinking about a two week visit to Australia and New Zealand. Spend 8-9 days in Australia, then spend four to five days white water rafting in New Zealand. I’m also very interested in checking out Central America. That appeals to me because it’s going to third world and developing nations, but there’s no 16 hour flight to get there. Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Honduras all really appeal to me. One day. Also high on my list is Sweeden, Amsterdam and Iceland. Iceland just looks too beautiful to be true.

Heh, if you come to Australia we’ll have to meet up so I can get some real Beer into you – not that watery sissy girl american tripe!

Trust me, if I get down there you’ll be one of the first people I visit.
