Good Buddy Augie De Blieck Jr. linked to the The Baby Name Wizard: NameVoyager over on his Web site and it’s truly fascinating. The site shows the relative popularity of names over a 100 year period. Take Jonah, for example. The name has grown in popularity exponentially since the 1960s. In the 1970s, when I received my name, it was barely being used, but today it’s becoming more and more popular. That actually jives with my own experience as I’ve met a number of children in the last three years with my name, yet for the previous thirty years I’ve only ever met two other Jonah’s.
